WORDS IN PROGRESS
A community writing series with Laredo Poet Laureate Xiomarra Milann
Maybe you already love writing.
Maybe you haven’t written anything since school.
Maybe you’re curious about poetry but have no idea where to begin.
Maybe you’re just looking for a way to express your creativity. You don’t need experience. You just need something you want to explore.
Words in Progress is a monthly gathering for anyone interested in writing, storytelling, creativity, or simply trying something new.
Created in collaboration with City of Laredo Poet Laureate Xiomarra Milan and the Webb County Heritage Foundation, the program brings people together to explore ideas, share stories, and discover new ways of putting experiences into words.
Each gathering offers a new theme, prompts, activities, and opportunities to write. Come with a notebook full of ideas or with absolutely no idea what you want to write. Both are welcome.
Words in Progress is for you if...
There is no experience required.

Come as you are.
Each gathering is a little different, but you can expect guided prompts and activities, time to write, conversation, and opportunities to share if you'd like.
Bring your favorite notebook or writing tools if you have them. If you don't, that's okay too.
Curious about writing or storytelling?
Come see what happens when you give yourself a little time and space to write.
Words in Progress meets monthly at the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum.
Free. Open to everyone. No experience needed.
