Heritage Tours

Take a ride aboard a turn-of-the-century trolley that visits the historic districts of Laredo.

Beginning at the historic heart of Laredo, San Agustin Plaza, this two-hour tour showcases the REPUBLIC OF THE RIO GRANDE® Museum, the Old Mercado downtown area, the Victorian-era St. Peter's district, and the in-progress restoration of old Ft. McIntosh.  Stops include San Agustin Cathedral, a beautifully restored Victorian mansion in the St. Peter's district. Optional stops are the Laredo Center for the Arts which host changing exhibits with border art as well as visiting international artists, and the fully restored 1909 Webb County Courthouse designed by noted Texas architect Alfred Giles.

All Heritage Tours are conducted in English or Spanish. This is a unique way of getting to know the history and architectural heritage of this 250 year-old city that has lived under seven flags.

All tours start and finish at the REPUBLIC OF THE RIO GRANDE® Museum at 1005 Zaragoza St., next door to La Posada Hotel/Suites on San Agustin Plaza.
